Carved Wood Relief and Sign Carving with Master Carver Ron Ramsey
Experience the fun and delight of creating a dimensional relief wood carving. This class will introduce you to the technique of relief carving taught by national award-winning woodcarver, Ron Ramsey. There will be instruction in both hand-driven and power carving. The tools and techniques that you will learn to use will enable you to create any type of wood carving, be it a sign or relief carving.
This class will focus on creating a carved sign where the lettering and images are carved in relief. You will learn layout of lettering, dimensional carving, and painting of the carving.
Ramsey will also demonstrate using built-up pieces to create the highly dimensionally carved features that he incorporates in the doors, mantels and architectural elements that he is widely known for.
Tools and materials are provided.
