Since 1891 when Salvation Army Captain Joseph McFee placed a crab pot at the Oakland Ferry Landing in San Francisco, California, a red kettle has been used each Christmas in communities all over the world to fundraise and raise awareness for Salvation Army programs in their community. Each year we repeat this timeless tradition and we would love your help to be a bellringing ambassador in Nevada County at one of kettle sites. Kids love it, costumes and props make the moment and friendly dogs are fan favorites.
